With Canada bookings opening this morning, the Rajinikanth film’s premiere pre-sales now stand in the $1.05M range, and its total North America opening day pre-sales have reached $1.2M. The premieres begin tonight.
USA Final Premiere Pre-Sales
USA premiere pre-sales for Jailer 2 have closed at $965.4K, with 35,875 tickets sold across 1,296 shows in 457 theatres. Average occupancy stands at 25.2 percent.
The film added around $141K in the last 24 hours, a growth of about 17 percent from yesterday’s $824.6K, as the final-day rush kicked in.
By language:
- Tamil: $843.5K from 30,184 tickets
- Telugu: $121.7K from 5,682 tickets
The Tamil version continues to carry the film, contributing close to 90 percent of the USA total. The Telugu version, however, saw the biggest final-day jump, growing more than 40 percent from $86K to $121.7K in a day.
By chain, Cinemark leads with $489.7K, followed by Regal at $250.7K and AMC at $94.5K. Malco Theatres and Hooky Entertainment saw the strongest occupancy at 75.7 percent and 64.1 percent.
Canada Opens on a Good Note
Canada bookings opened only this morning and are trending well. With Canada added, Jailer 2’s total North America premiere pre-sales now stand in the $1.05M range.
Day 1 pre-sales in North America are in the $150K range. Combined with the premieres, total North America opening day pre-sales have reached $1.2M.
What Positive Talk Could Do
From here, everything depends on word of mouth. If the film receives positive talk from the first shows, North America premieres are expected to finish in the $1.7M range, with walk-ins and last-minute bookings adding a big push. In that case, the opening day total in North America could reach the $2.5M range.
If the talk is mixed, the film will have to rely mostly on its pre-sales, and the final numbers will stay closer to the current trend.

After a slow pre-release campaign, crossing $1M in premiere pre-sales gives Jailer 2 a respectable start in North America. But for a sequel to a blockbuster like Jailer, the real test begins tonight.
